pleasant stay with room for improvement
The staff provided exceptional service, attending to my request for fresh milk promptly. The variety of beverages and biscuits in the room added a thoughtful touch to the stay.
The room lacked some amenities I expected.

Nice spot for outdoor folks
Had a great time checkin out the local trails right from the village! The views were cool and the room was comfy enough. The staff were super friendly, really made us feel welcome. Food was nice too, especially loved the homemade pie! Just wished there were more beer options at the bar.

Consider bringing earplugs if you're a light sleeper, as the nearby church chimes can be frequent.

great stay but room could improve
The room was both spacious and very clean it provided great comfort. The generous complimentary refreshments were a nice touch. The secret courtyard is a lovely addition to the pub atmosphere, perfect for relaxation.
The room lacked some aesthetic charm.

A lovely getaway!
We had a blast staying here! Super quiet location made it perfect for chill time. The room was super clean with a nice little fridge stocked with drinks. Food in the restaurant was fresh and tasty, especially those burgers! Just wish they had more local ales on tap, but otherwise a fab experience!

Excellent breakfast and friendly staff
We had a pleasant stay with a very comfortable room, and I must say that the breakfast was top-notch, featuring locally sourced ingredients. The service was friendly and accommodating, which made our experience even better. the noise from a nearby event in the function room kept us awake on the first night, which was quite disruptive.

I found The George to be quite charming despite some quirks. The location next to the Cathedral of the Peak is excellent. The staff greeted me warmly, making check-in feel personal. My room had a cozy vibe with a comfortable bed and good tea and coffee facilities. I appreciated the cleanliness of the room and the range of toiletries provided. Breakfast was a highlight—delicious with generous portions, setting me up for a day of exploring. the central heating had a persistent ticking sound through the night, which made it hard to sleep. The bathroom’s drainage was another issue. the shower struggled to keep up. The unlit exit through the back after hours posed a safety concern, especially in dark conditions. While the pub food was nostalgic and not pretentious, there were moments it felt outdated. I can’t ignore the need for more atmosphere. it lacked liveliness during my stay. Still, I felt welcomed and left with lovely memories except for a few rough edges.
